#UberEats (through SF): Launch Party and Service Review
Last Monday Uber had a "secret" launch party for their new SF service #UberEats. I didn't know what to expect because the only information I was given about the party was an address, so when I arrived I was thrilled to find a beautifully planned event. For those of you who haven't experienced it yet – Uber Eats is the best option for on-demand delivery, given you're in the area. With a $3 flat delivery fee, you're able to order delicious lunches from the top SF restaurants and get it delivered to FiDi and SOMA within 10 minutes. The daily menu typically includes one salad, a more robust entree, and some sort of treat or drink.
Chefs Michael Mina and Ken Tominaga were both in attendance, as well as owners of a few of their initial launch partners. This list includes: Nopalito, Souvla, Pabu/Ramen Bar, Mr. Holmes Bakehouse, and DOSA. The food was incredible and the guest list was well put together.
The wonderful Emily Martin (aka the JetSetting Fashionista) and I were literally the last two people to leave, other than the Cookhouse staff. Before we left, we had fun on the matte black Uber bike (pictured below). I'm very jealous of whoever gets to ride it around the city!
I've used the platform three times since the launch, and each time I've been truly impressed. My meals have all been delivered within 4 minutes of me pressing the "request meal" button, which is mind-blowing. The food has been delivered warm, and is generally the same quality as what you'd get in-house.
Needless to say, I highly recommend it!
